Terms and conditions

  • Winter bookings at Barina Milpara are open to shareholders, their guests, and members of the public.
  • Bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • When bookings open in February to March each year, the Lodge prioritises reservations of 5 nights or more.
  • Winter season bookings for non-shareholders commence at the beginning of March.
  • The minimum winter stay is two nights per room, charged at a twin-share rate, and must include at least one adult.
  • Rooms will not be held without payment, and bookings will not be accepted from anyone with an outstanding debt to Barina Milpara.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking. All payments are non-refundable.
  • By making a booking, guests acknowledge and accept all Lodge Terms and Conditions.
  • All bookings are subject to review and may be altered or cancelled at the discretion of the Lodge Booking Officer or the Board.


General Rates

  • Rates are charged per person, per night, based on twin share, and must include at least one adult.
  • Rates include:
    • Breakfast and dinner,
    • Over-snow transport for guests and luggage on arrival and departure days,
    • Over-snow transport to the Lodge after 4:00 pm on days other than arrival and departure.

Additional Charges

  • A $100  per night surcharge applies in Winter for rooms occupied by one person only.
  • Should the Lodge, at its discretion, provide a single-night booking, a $100  per person surcharge applies to 1-night stays.
  • Non-residents may be invited to dine in the dining room, subject to capacity. This must be arranged 24 hours in advance with the Manager and incurs a $50 per person charge.

 


  •   A two-course breakfast
  • A three-course dinner


  • Guests must respect the quiet enjoyment of the Lodge by all occupants.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times.
  • The Directors reserve the right to refuse future bookings from any individual or party responsible for unacceptable behaviour.
  • Prior to retiring for the evening, guests must return items they have used and leave the lounge area tidy.
  • Costs for additional cleaning or repairs resulting from guest actions will be charged to the responsible party.
  • Guests are not permitted to enter the kitchen at any time.


  • Skis and boots must not be brought into the lounge or into guest rooms. 
  • A ski storage area is accessible via the rear entrance of the Lodge.
  • Ski or snowboard waxing is not permitted anywhere inside the Lodge.


  • Any issue requiring immediate attention must be reported to the Lodge Manager as soon as possible.
  • Feedback and comments regarding lodge operations may be directed to the Board of Directors at: bookings@barina.com.au   


Guest-Initiated Cancellations

  • All bookings are non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
  • Guests who cancel, fail to arrive, or reduce the duration of their stay forfeit all payments made.
  • No credits, transfers, or substitutions will be provided unless expressly   
  • approved by the Lodge Board.


Lodge-Initiated Cancellations

  • The Lodge Booking Officer or Board may modify or cancel bookings at their      discretion in circumstances including, but not limited to:
    • safety concerns
    • operational issues
    • maintenance requirements
    • circumstances beyond the Lodge’s control
  • If the Lodge cancels a booking, reasonable efforts will be made to offer an alternative stay.
  • If an alternative is not available, the Lodge may, at its discretion, issue a refund or credit. This is the extent of the Lodge’s liability.  


General Liability

  • Guests stay at Barina Milpara at their own risk.
  • The Lodge, its Directors, Managers, employees, and volunteers are not      liable for:
    • personal injury
    • loss, theft, or damage to personal property
    • accidents or incidents occurring in or around the Lodge, including ski areas and transport
  • Guests are responsible for ensuring they hold appropriate travel insurance,   including cover for snow sports, medical needs, and cancellations.

Property Damage

  • Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused to Lodge property by themselves, their children, or their visitors.
  • The Lodge reserves the right to charge repair, cleaning or replacement costs directly to the responsible guest.

External Services and Conditions

  • The Lodge is not responsible for interruptions or failures in services outside      its control, including but not limited to:
    • ski resort operations
    • weather conditions
    • transport delays
    • power or utility outages
  • No refunds or compensation will be provided in such situations.



Definition

A Force Majeure Event refers to any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the Lodge, including but not limited to:

  • severe weather
  • natural disasters
  • government regulations or restrictions
  • epidemics or pandemics
  • service interruptions
  • industrial disputes
  • acts of war, terrorism, or civil unrest
  • any event rendering normal Lodge operations unsafe or impractical


Impact on Bookings

In the event of a Force Majeure Event, the Lodge may, at its sole discretion:

  • cancel or amend bookings
  • modify services
  • restrict access to facilities
  • temporarily close the Lodge


Refunds and Credits

  • No automatic refund or credit will be issued in the event of a Force Majeure Event.
  • The Lodge may choose, at its discretion, to offer refunds, credits, or alternative dates.
  • Any remedy offered is voluntary and does not constitute an admission of liability.


Guest Responsibility

Guests acknowledge that alpine environments carry inherent risks of disruption. Guests are strongly encouraged to secure travel insurance that covers cancellations, delays, and interruptions caused by Force Majeure Events.
